Partners The Youth Emergency Shelter Society is one of approximately 19,000 nonprofit and voluntary organizations in Alberta. YESS realizes there is increased competition amongst nonprofits to raise funds. Thus we are always expanding and diversifying our fundraising efforts. By responding to the market and offering various sponsorship opportunities to the members of the business community YESS is able to set higher fund raising goals and fulfill our mission of “giving youth at risk a chance”. Canadian businesses are significant supporters of charitable and nonprofit organizations.We also realize that sponsorships are of increasing complexity and return on investment is important but not the only reason why companies give. In a recent study by Imagine Canada, the four general reasons businesses support nonprofits are: “1) because it helped market the company’s brand; 2) because the success of the company depended upon having strong communities; 3) because of the need for a social license to operate; and 4)because it improved the ability to recruit and retain employees.” Often in business there is a distinction between donations and sponsorships with the latter often the responsibility of the marketing or community relations department. This is the opportunity that YESS is offering business, sponsorships that cater to your strategic business goals. There are sponsorship packages for specific events (Ladies Growing Dreams Luncheon, Homeless for a Night and Annual Charity Golf Classic), or overall YESS sponsors and specific youth program sponsors. Louise Hovelson who is extensively trained in developing, implementing and maintaining sponsorship relationships with various corporations will customize sponsorship packages to benefit the company’s targets and objectives.
