Volunteering has equal benefit for the volunteer as it does for the Society! Consider some of the following reasons people volunteer.

Volunteering can help you:
  • network
  • gain new skills or develop skills for a new job
  • meet people
  • make a difference in someone else’s life
  • feel valued
  • express thanks for help you may have received in the past
The Youth Emergency Shelter Society welcomes people from all walks of life and all ages. We’re looking for volunteers who have a desire to make a difference in our community by giving of their time and expertise to Edmonton’s homeless youth.

Whatever your reason for volunteering, we’d like to hear from you and welcome you to consider our organization for your volunteer work.

Why Kate volunteers her time at YESS
"I volunteer at the Youth Emergency Shelter because I really like these kids, and I want to let them know that even a stranger can care about their well being, particularly at time when perhaps, it seems that no one does."
