What Families Receive

One application covers every child and youth in your home.

New this year, families apply once for all children and youth 17 and under. You don't need to figure out which organization to apply to. Support is coordinated based on the age of each child or youth.

Youth ages 13 to 17

Adopt-A-Teen gift cards from YESS

A $50 Southgate Centre gift card for each eligible youth ages 13 to 17. Mailed by December 18, 2026.

Children 12 and under

Toy Packages from Santas Anonymous

Gift packages for eligible children from infancy through age 12. Each Toy Package includes two toys, one book, and a stuffed animal. Delivered December 19, 2026.

Gifts are based on each child's or youth's age. Families can't choose between Toy Packages and gift cards.

Here' s what you'll need to apply.

Eligibility is based on your household, including the number of adults and children living in the home and your household's gross monthly income. The requirements are the same for both programs.

You can apply if you:

  • Are the primary caregiver of the children and youth on the application
  • Live within the City of Edmonton
  • Have a gross monthly household income at or below the 2026 income limits

Have these documents ready:

  • Proof of address
  • Proof of age for everyone in your household
  • Proof of income
Documents are required for every application.

Apply: November 2 to December 7
Complete the Christmas Gift Application at applytosantas.ca by 11:59 PM on December 7. Include all eligible children and youth 17 and under in your household.

Review
A confidential team of family support workers reviews each application.

Gift cards mailed by December 18.
YESS mails Adopt-A-Teen gift cards to approved households.

Toy Packages delivered December 19.
Santas Anonymous delivers Toy Packages to approved households.
