Our Commitment to Accessibility

Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS) is committed to ensuring that yess.org is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We are working to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, aligned with the Accessible Canada Act and the Government of Canada's Digital Accessibility Standards.

‍

Applicable Standards

WCAG 2.1 Level AA · Accessible Canada Act (ACA) · Alberta's Accessibility Act (SA 2024, c. A-1.5) · AODA (Ontario reference benchmark).

‍

What We're Doing

Sufficient colour contrast, semantic HTML5, descriptive alt text, keyboard navigability, ARIA labels, labelled form fields, seizure-safety, skip-to-main-content links, captioned video, readable typography, and assistive-technology testing.

‍

Known Limitations

Third-party platforms (Blackbaud, Raisely, Santa Anonymous) are outside YESS's direct control. PDF documents and legacy media may not yet be fully accessible.
